To teach us the process of creating media as you would in the industry, we had to create a movie poster for an existing character that had not yet received a solo film.
I decided to go with DC Comics' Batgirl or Cassandra Cain. This was my first ever assignment in Photoshop, I used a mix of collaging 2D images with 3D models and warping them to fit a desired composition.

To help us understand and get practice in doing the less engaging tasks a graphic designer would be in charge of, we had to recreate an existing physical coupon page as accurately as possible.
I went with a Subway coupon sheet, using purely Illustrator. It was my first project where I did something so technical.

In order to test our skills with shapes and the pen tool in Illustrator, we were asked to recreate a movie poster completely in Illustrator using shape and pen tools only.
For my submission, I recreated the original poster for Gojira (1954).

To give us experience in creating official advertisements for a real company, we were tasked by an actual McDonald's representative in creating 5x7 window advertisement for McDonald's , showcasing a collaboration between the company and Cal State LA.

To introduce both the basics of a logo design and to challenge us in creating original ideas for advertising, we were tasked in (a) creating the logo for a company and (b) creating a box and label for a real or fictional pill.
For my submission, I created a pill "Extremis", which enhances the body. The company "Pandora Pharmaceutical" was chosen due to it's association with classical mythology (the aesthetic of the pill is based off renaissance aesthetics, which are in-turn based off ancient Greece) and for it's potential to be a secretly evil company. I thought the idea was interesting.
Program: Adobe Illustrator
Reason: To help us understand the process of creating pages for magazines.
Project: Create a spread of pages for a magazine that the entire class will be included in. The pages must have a pleasing and creative layout, along with an actual article. The theme of our spreads was decided by us.

To help us understand the process of creating pages for magazines, we were tasked with creating a magazine spread for a magazine that the entire class would be included in. The pages must have a pleasing, but creative, layout along with an actual article written by us. We had the freedom to decide the subject and theme.
For my submission, I wanted to focus on superhero show Invincible, specifically on their writing of their male characters. The design is based off of classic comic book panels, but the aesthetic such as bold colors with lots of empty space was inspired by the design of the show's various promos and title-cards.
Intro to Digital Art - Final

To help us become more familiar with After Effects and challenge us to produce something with motion and care, we were tasked with creating a typographic music video for any copyright-free song of our choice. The song had to be at least one minute in length and there had to be motion for a majority of the video.
My submission is the song "Workin Boy Blues" by Bombay Laughing Club.
